Important: Switzerland has no single national naturalisation exam. Cantons and municipalities decide how knowledge is checked (written test, interview or both) and the content varies. This 15-question practice test is a NatuPass reference to study general civic knowledge; the pass mark and timer are ours and are not official. Ask your municipality what is required.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a national Swiss citizenship test?

No. In Switzerland, naturalisation depends on the canton and the municipality, which decide how to check your knowledge. Ask your local office what applies to you.

Are these the official questions?

No. They are original practice questions on general civic knowledge: politics, history, geography and society.

Which language should I study in?

NatuPass questions are in German. If your municipality uses French or Italian, use NatuPass for the concepts and check the local language.

Does NatuPass guarantee I will pass?

No. NatuPass helps you study. The requirements and the decision belong to your canton and municipality.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. There is a free sample, no sign-up: practice questions with explanations in every topic and a mini exam. The full course costs CHF 9.99 for 60 days, one payment.

Is NatuPass affiliated with the government?

No. NatuPass is an independent study tool; the questions are original and based on the official topics.
